Hi there. . .
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my handmades . . .
~ * Americana Lady Liberty Doll * ~
Just in time for the fourth of July! This little make-do stands 15 1/2 inches tall to the top of her crown. She is sewn by me from stained muslin. Her eyes are circles of stained batting with old antique leather shoe buttons for the centers. Her nose is sculpted and lips are stitched on. I have shaded and blushed her face for depth and dimension

Her crown is painted and sanded, stained and stiffened muslin. I have added red german glass glitter around the top. Her drop-waist dress is stained osnaburg with raw hems and painted and sanded red ric-rac stitched to the skirt bottom.
She wears a coordinating criss-crossed grosgrain ribbon which has been stitched in place on her back. The badge on the front is aged red wool with an osnaburg center I stamped USA. Both have been stitched in place.

Her torch is made from painted, sanded and stained muslin attatched to an antique textile mill bobbin with a sculpted "flame". It measures 15 inches end to end. I have added 6 rusty jingle bells and some red tinsel trim for some sparkle. Her hand is tacked in place at her belly and the torch is not attatched to her in any way, but only tucked in the crook of her arm. Both her arms have jointed elbows so they are posable, but please note that they are not wired.

Here is a pic of her without her crown- which is removable and only pinned in place . Her hair is soft auburn mohair which has been securely needlefelted in place with a part in the center and little pigtail tufts.

This is the view from the back. She is secured to a distressed wood candlestick base so she stands nicely on her own.

Her stained hangtag is pinned in place and has a vintage image of a patriotic gal with her American flag and the words "Three cheers for the Red, White and Blue".

This sweet wide-eyed cutie was made by me using two wonderful patterns from Crabby Gabby (main doll) and Stitchin' Sew Prim (torch and crown design).

All my handmades come to you signed and dated by me....

PRiMiTiVe FoLK ArT PreTTy LiL SnoWgiRL DoLL

She is another dolly I made from a Back Porch Pickins pattern. She measure 22 inches tall to the top of her hat and dressed in her wynter's best! Such a pretty little Christmas dolly - perfect for anyone who collects snowmen...
She is sewn from painted and stained muslin. Her eyes are painted with separate eyelids stitched on. Her mouth is heavy wire I have shaped into a folky smile and it is very discreetly stitched on. Her cheeks are blushed slightly and I've used artists pencil to shade her sweet face a bit for depth....

She wears a black felt tophat and it has been generously dusted with ultrafine silver glitter. Around the brim I have stitched a very fine, delicate tinsel trim and a silver glittered snowflake. It looks blue in the pics because it is reflecting the blue sky when I took the pics outdoors, it truly is sparkly silver in color. Her hat is only pinned in place with two decorative pins and I will remove it for safe shipping.

Her arms are wired and pose nicely. She holds a few her snowballs in the crook of one arm. The little snowballs are each about 1 3/4 inches in diameter. I made her a wool stocking and pinned it to her bodice. I embellished it with some stitched tinsel trim and a jingle bell which has been encrusted with silver glass glitter as well.
Her dress is a beautiful light blue and cream tonal cotton print with snowflakes. I have handstitched some of the fine silver tinsel trim to the sleeves and hem, with a silver ric~rac across the bottom front of the bodice. Her dress collar is aged white wool felt stitched around the neckline with a few clear crystal embellishments. Her pantalets are antiqued eyelet material with a pretty scalloped edge . All the glass glitter sparklies and such is so hard to capture in the pics- she is just so much prettier in person!

Her slippers are real silver german glass glitter and sparkle so pretty!
Her snowballs have been rolled twice in clear glass glitter. There will be four snowballs included in the auction, though I only show her holding three. You can display them in her arms or in a little prim bowl just as fillers....the little bowl in the pics is not included.

Hi there. . .
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my handmades ...
* Wicked Olde Hallowe'en Witch and her Cat Wand *
She is sewn from aged muslin and measures 27 inches from the bend in her hat to the bottoms of her feet....... Her arms are wired so they are gently poseable. I wired her wand to her arm for the pics cuz he's a bit heavy.
Her black cat-on-a-stick stands 11 inches tall...

She has very detailed facial features...her eyes, lips and mole are painted on, then shaded, highlighted and detailed with artist pencil. Her nose and eyelids are separate and sewn on. Her brows are drawn on and I've given her a bit of green 'eyeshadow' on her lids with both paint and pencil. She even has a 'dimpled' chin...
Her face has been sprayed with fixatif sealer for protection.
Her hat is made from black wool felt. I shaped and stiffened it and rubbed it with cinnamon to dirty it up some...It is trimmed with aged cheesecloth and a fine rust color tinsel garland and rusty bell stitched to the center...it is securely stitched to her head...

This is a great pic of her mouth and chin....that big nose of hers kinda gets in the way..LOL. For the tresses I used a curly, soft grey mohair and ivory mohair for the streaks...it is needlefelted around her entire head under her hat...

The view from the back....the loop you see is sturdy wire secured in her back if you choose to hang her for display...
Now for her outfit...

the bodice is a black cotton fabric which has been rubbed with cinnamon to grubby it up a bit. Her sleeves have finished hems with some prim stitchin....and stitched some silver wire tinsel around the neckline...
I have given her a cream and black woolen and stitched a rusty bell to the center. Her skirt is a wonderful tonal spiderweb cotton print with a finished hem and dirty, black chunky ric-rac.

Her bloomers are a black and tan check with finished hem and wired tinsel stitched to the bottom. Her leggins and boots are painted on in prim fashion and three rusty bells were stitched to the top of each boot.
What All Hallow's Eve witch is complete without a black cat??

Her kitty has a full, round head. He was sewn from painted sanded and stained muslin. His amber yellow eyes are painted on and detailed with pencil...he has separately stitched on eyelids and ears. His mouth, nose and brows are needlesculpted and his whiskers are thread. He is secured to an antique, dark oak textile mill bobbin. His ruffled collar is coordinating dirty black fabric and shredded cheesecloth. It is finished off with a bit of tinsel garland and a rusty bell stitched in the center...
This set was made by me using a pattern from Back Porch Pickins... Please let me know if you should have any questions about her....she would make a wonderful gift for a Halloween Collector, then she could be left out all year long...

All my handmades come to you signed and dated by me....

Primitive Folk Art Americana Big Doll Flag

This gal is my most recent creation... I would like to thank Heidi at Crabby Gabby for the wonderful pattern!
She is very large display size doll-she stands just about 31 inches tall. ( 30 3/4 to be exact...)

She is a sturdy gal and is freestanding...she is mounted onto an old antique beehive bobbin ( which appears to
have seen its years of use.. LOL)

that is permanently secured with screws (from the bottom) to a destressed wood
star base. She wears a stained cotton "bloomer" under her skirt which reads the pledge of allegiance...
She is sewm from stained muslin and has a full round-like-a-ball head. Her facial features are all done by hand.

Her nose and brows are needle sculpted to add a bit of dimension and her mouth is stitched with heavy red cotton thread...
Her green eyes are drawn and detailed with artists pencils....
I've also added some shading around her nose and brows and blushed her cheeks for a bit of color....
All of her clothing is made from painted, sanded and aged plain cotton ticking. Her blouse is color washed white
with a gathered bodice and sleeves. Her corset is navy colorwashed with set eyelets and laced up the front with aged
cording. The shoulder straps are red colorwashed ticking.....
Her skirt is painted with alternating red, white and blue stripes. It is a bit stiff from the paint, but I did sand the heck out
of it to help soften it some....
She has a full head of sheeps wool for her hair, dark brown with chocolate tips, which is needlefelted in place...
her bonnet is sewn into place on top.
She has individually stitched fingers on both hands. Her right hand is stiffened so she appears to grasp the flagpole.

As you can see in the in the close-ups, she has some stain birthmarks there....the starch didn't agree with the stain on
that hand apparently. Its mostly visible from the back....When she's holding the pole, you don't see it as much....
Now for Olde Glory...the wood flagpole is 36 inches long by itself. The fabric piece measures 10 1/2 inches x 16 inches.
It is from painted and sanded plain ticking in a Betsy Ross style.

It has two small pockets sewn into the top and bottom
which has wire inside. The wire can be bent into any shape to make the flag appear to be waving, of if you prefer, it can lay
flat. The wire is wrapped through and around the pole to secure it and I did some prim stitchin' down the side to give
it a nice finsh... I have placed a reserve to protect all my time and work invested into her...if she does not sell, she will have
a nice home with me. :o)
She will come to you signed and dated by me......

Primitive Folk Art Raggedy Doll Mother Stitchery

Well, I did manage to make a Mother's Day dolly, though I nearly ran out of time! LOL! This will be a shorter auction so you can still get her in time for Mothers Day.

Annie measures 23" head to toes and made from stained muslin. She wears a burgundy, navy and tan plaid homespun dress with a drop waist and little gathered sleeves. The bloomers are a neat tonal mustard Honey & Me cotton print with prim stars and little curly Q's.

Her collar is aged muslin with primitive stitchin' around the edge. All the hems on her dress and bloomers have a nice finished edge and all clothing has been stained. Her face is primly hand stitched on and her hair is barn red wavy wool yarn stitched into pigtails with a ragbow on each side.

I gave her head a slight tilt to give her a sweet look. Her arms are string jointed, so they will move up and down. Her leggings and mary jane shoes are painted on in prim fashion, then sanded and stained. Her feet have a more 3-dimensional look to them. I gave her a boxed bottom and weighted it gently so she will sit nicely. I also gave her a sturdy loop in her back if you prefer to hang her for display instead. She will come to you signed and dated by me.

The stitchery I wanted to resemble a miniature wall hanging quilt. It measures 9" tall and a little over 8" wide. It reads "Mother. . . . A person hand chosen by God that shows unending love and compassion to the miracle He blessed you with that lasts a lifetime". The border around the stitchery is matching homespun and the "quilt" backing is a different coordinating navy, burgundy and tan cotton homespun. I did some hand stitching on both sides of the seam all the way around. It has been stained for an aged look. I am also including the wire heart hanger to go with it. The quilt has heavy cotton thread loops in the back that tie to the hanger for display and can be removable if you wish. The hanger measures 7 1/2 " tall and 7 1/4" wide.
Annie was made using a Sweetmeadowsfarm pattern and the stitchery was made using a pattern from Twigs-n-Sprigs.
My dollies are "pretties" for adult decoration only and not intended to be a children's toy.

Primitive Mama Frog & Lil' Dolly *Spring Flag

Hi there! Well, I'm still here a thinkin' spring! It's sure got me in the mood to make critters!
Mama frog is 22 inches and made from painted, sanded and stained muslin. She has a needle sculpted mouth and "lips" ( do frogs really have lips?? :) Tee Hee )

Her eyes are drown on and detailed with artist pencil and separate lids are tacked on over each eye. Her eyes and around her mouth were shaded as well to add dimension
and I put a touch of blush on her cheeks. The webbing on her feet and hands are needle sculpted.

She wears a retro style blue cotton print dress with daisies
all over it and a light mustard floral print for the puff sleeves and hem. Her pantaloons are coordinating cream and blue homespun and prim stitched it to a twig for her flag.

I did not stitch the flag to her..... She clutches her baby doll in her other hand. Her dolly is 9 inches and made from my own design with the same features as her mom,
detailed eyes and blushed cheeks, sculpted webbing~right down to the little needle sculpted mouth, though I have to tell ya her little eyelids are drawn on
instead.

She wears a matching dress and little pantaloons. She is permanently stitched to her mamas hand so she won't get lost.......
She (mama frog) has a loop in her back for hanging, and if you choose her sitting instead, she has a boxed bottom which is weighted so she will sit nicely.

This set will come to you signed and dated on Mama's tummy.....
I uese a wonderful pattern from. Sweetmeadowsfarm for the Momma frog and her baby was my own creation.

Primitive Folk Art Ladybug Doll 'n' Flower

~Sweet Spring Ladybug n Flower~

Isn't it spring yet?? I don't know about you, but I am definitely getting spring fever!! :0)

She measures 20 inches (not including those feelers of hers!) and made from painted, sanded and stained muslin, and cute as can be! She has a round-like-a-ball head. Her eyes are painted on, then detailed and shaded with artist pencil. I handstitched separate lids over each eye.

Her lil nose is needle sculpted to add dimension, then shaded and her pouty red lips are stitched on. I put just a touch of blush on those cheeks. All her buggie dots on her bodice and arms are circles of black wool felt each handstitched in place. Her dots on the wings and the little dots on her slippers are painted. Her arms are string jointed so they are moveable and each elbow is able to bend slightly so you can vary her poses.

I've handstitched red tinsel garland in place around her neckline and also at the bend of each elbow. Her antennas are black chenille stems finished off with a rusty jingle bell on each end. Her wings have thin wire hanstitched inside between the two layers of muslin, so you can shape them to mimic real ladybug wings- they are held in place at the top by the black button and can open and close as you wish. Her dress is a tan cotton print with tiny red stars and a contrasting red polka dot waistband and black distressed ric-rac.

I've sewn the same polka dot and ric-rac around the hem and added a skirt of fine black tulle under her dress for a bit of whimsey. She has painted slippers and I stitched three little rusty bells on the tops of each one. Her primitive lil cone flower is painted, sanded and stained muslin. I used a plain old stick from my backyard for the stem and wrapped it in aged, colorwashed green cheesecloth and tied it into two leaves at the top.

I have it wired to her hands for the pictures, so it is removable. This little bug, her dress and the flower have been given a cinnamon rub-down to age her a little more. She looks great hanging from the loop in her back, but just as cute sitting as well. She will come to you signed and dated on her backside under the wings.....
If you want to adopt her, you'll need to bid on her. With the amount of work I put into her, I won't be making any duplicates....sorry :0)
This little gal was handmade by me using a pattern from Back Porch Pickins, and the flower was from a Sweetmeadowsfarm pattern.
Thanks for lookin'.........and happy bidding!
